Outdoor Oven Recipe (cooking times based on the Ooni 3 Outdoor Oven)

Steak and roasted vegetables outdoor oven recipe

Prepared in an Ooni 3 Outdoor Oven.

Ingredients

  • Ribeye or your favorite cut of steak
  • Unsalted butter
  • Olive oil
  • Salt, pepper or favorite meat seasoning
  • Asparagus
  • Sliced red pepper (or favorite veggies)
  • Garlic cloves to taste

Steps

  1. Place a 10 inch cast iron skillet in your outdoor oven and fire it up for 7-10 minutes to bring both to temperature
  2. While they are warming up, massage a small amount of olive oil onto the the steak and season each side to taste with salt, pepper, or meat seasoning
  3. Place on foil or parchment paper
  4. Place asparagus, sliced peppers, and garlic on aluminum foil or in a shallow aluminum pan and brush lightly with olive oil, and season to taste
  5. Carefully pull out your skillet (tip: using metal tongs with a wooden plank or cutting board work well for safe handling)
  6. Place your steak on the skillet and put into the oven for 2 minutes
  7. Flip the steak and add a tablespoon of butter on top before putting back into the oven (for rare steak cook for 2 minutes, for medium steak cook for 4 minutes)
  8. Remove steak from skillet and let rest
  9. Carefully place your veggies into the oven, ensuring oil/juices will not spill out of foil or pan. Turn every 60 seconds until roasted/charred to your liking
